Not often does a pitcher make it through the regular season without being tagged with a loss. Dice-K Matsuzaka has done just that for the Red Sox as he completed the regular season with a perfect 9-0 mark. That mark is no fluke as he has combined it with a 2.37 ERA, and hitters have managed just a .178 batting average against him. It gets even better. Matsuzaka has a 12-1 record in night games with a 2.48 ERA and a .198 batting average against him. He will square off with Ervin Santana who won 11 games prior to the All-Star break, but has tailed off since, winning just five games. He has been a better road pitcher at 11-2, 3.02 than at home, 5-5, and 4.03. I look for the Red Sox to go up 2-0 in the series and will back them here as a live dog.
