Boston at Detroit

The Boston Red Sox almost found themselves in a difficult spot, as they rallied from a 5-1 deficit in game two to win 6-5. Last night they came back to make it two wins in a row with a 1-0 pitcher's duel in Detroit. The Sox now have the mental edge in the series, and look to go up 3-1 behind Jake Peavy. Peavy allowed just a single run in 5.2 innings of work in Boston's post-season opening series. It will be up to Doug Fister to hold the Boston attack down. Over his career he has struggled against the BoSox, as he owns a 2-4 mark with a 4.36 ERA against them in eight career starts. It is still apparent that Miguel Cabrera is not healthy, and now add a limping Victor Martinez to the injured list as he will try to play through a quad injury, making the Tigers' lineup look a lot less imposing. Boston is now 11-1 as a playoffs dog from +110 to +150, and they get it done once again. Play on Boston.
