The Boston Red Sox were starring down the barrel of a 2-0 deficit in this series until Big Papi connected on a game-tying grand slam, and the Red Sox rallied for the series equalizing win in game two. The series shifts to Detroit, and the Tigers send Justin Verlander to the hill. Verlander has lost some of his once 100 MPH fastball, but is still a solid pitcher, but his recent resume is not that great. Detroit is 2-10 in his last 12 starts. Jon Lackey has regained his old form after surgery, and missing a season. He has stepped-up when needed the most with Boston winning each of his last four starts against a winning team. The Red Sox have been lethal small to mid-sized playoffs underdogs, as they are 10-1 in their last 11 playoffs games as a dog from +110 to +150. The Tigers are just 1-10 in Verlander's last 11 starts to a total of 7 to 8.5. Go with Boston.
