Boston at Detroit

The Boston Red Sox added a lot of parts to their roster prior to this season, and felt that they had strengthened the club to compete, but that simply has not been the case. One of those pieces was Joe Kelly. Kelly has allowed four or more earned runs in each of his last four outings. Kelly is in survival mode right now, and if he wants to retain a spot in the rotation, he is going to have to deliver tonight. He has appeared to have done that, as the Sox own a 5-2 record when he takes the mound as a dog from +110 to +150. The Tigers offense is not the same as it has been in recent years, and they are now 2-7 in their last nine when following a win, and 0-5 in their last five after scoring 5+ in their last game.
