Boston at Cleveland

Boston was hot for awhile, but now the Red Sox have lost seven of 10 and fallen firmly into last place in the AL East and they come off a 5-2 loss to the Guardians on Wednesday. Amed Rosario and Josh Naylor each had two singles, a double and an RBI single for Cleveland, which won its third in four games and the Guardains have allowed only 11 runs their past five games. Aaron Civale pitched five shutout innings on four hits against Minnesota his last outing and he has allowed just four runs in 17 2/3 innings in three starts this season. The Cleveland bullpen leads the majors with 23 saves. Boston starter Matt Dermody was recently promoted from Triple-A where he had a 2-2 record and 4.50 ERA in nine games.
