Boston at Chicago

It has been a slow start for last year's World Champion Boston Red Sox. They should get jump started off a big win in the 14th inning last night, and they will turn to Jon Lester to keep things going. Lester has been consistently good, allowing 2 earned runs in all three of his 2014 starts. Chris Sale is also off to a good start, but he has never started against Boston in his career. While I would rate the pitching matchup here about even, the Sox have the deeper and stronger pen, as well as a more difficult lineup to navigate. After 16 pitchers being used last night by both teams, the Boston pen will play a bigger role here. The Red Sox are at their best against a left-hander where they are 16-5 in their last 21 against them. Play on Boston.
