Baltimore at Washington

Washington continues its downward slide that is destined to make it the worst team in the majors this season and the Nationals lost their fourth in a row on Tuesday 4-3 to Baltimore. Ryan Mountcastle's homer was one of 11 hits for the Orioles, who need every win to stay in the wild-card race. Baltimore has won five of the last six meetings and has Tyler Wells on the mound and he has a respectable 3.91 ERA and 7-6 record this season. In his one appearance against the Nationals in 2022 Wells pitched five scoreless innings on three hits. Patrick Corbin somehow still is in the major leagues with a 6-18 record and 6.30 ERA and 1.71 WHIP and he gave up five runs on 12 hits in 6 2/3 innings against the Phillies on Friday. Baltimore is 13-4 its past 17 games versus left-handed starters and Washington is 28-68 its past 96 home games. Take the Orioles.
