Baltimore at Toronto

Toronto is clinging to hopes of making the playoffs, but it can't afford many more losses and the Blue Jays do come off back-to-back wins against the Tigers over the weekend while getting great pitching. Bo Bichette and Kevin Smith homered to back Jose Berrios, who only allowed an unearned run on Sunday. Robbie Ray is on the mound tonight for Toronto and he has given up only six runs his last five starts covering 34 innings. In his last start, Ray struck out 14 batters in seven innings against the White Sox on Wednesday. Chris Ellis will make just his second start for Baltimore after allowing three runs on five hits in three innings against the Angels. The Blue Jays have won six of the past eight meetings and the Orioles are 18-37 vs. left-handed starters. Also, Baltimore is 40-106 its past 146 games in the first game of a series.
