Kevin Millwood has been a mysterious pitcher over his career, but in a well defined way. Two years with an ERA in the 4's, followed by an ERA in the 2's. Two more years in the 4's, followed by 3.24. A third time with two more years in the 4's, followed by one in the 2's. He has now gone two years at 4+ again, and is currently in the 1's after two starts. Each bad season he starts poorly, each good one he starts good. Either way, even in a bad season, the Rangers were 10-5 in his home starts, 4-12 on the road. Trachsel is a sub-.500 road pitcher, and a journeyman, getting old. His 29 starts last year, showed he yielded 5+ runs in 18 of them, hardly quality outings. We like the Rangers at home in game one.
