Baltimore had a losing road record last year and opens the new campaign away from home. The Orioles were 20th in runs scored and 22nd in on-base percentage and had an uneventful offseason. They go with 35-year-old Kyle Gibson, a newcomer who had a 5.05 ERA with the Phillies in 2022. He had a 5.79 ERA on the road where batters hit .271 off him. He faces a Boston offense that was Top 10 in the majors last season in runs scored and slugging, plus sixth in on-base percentage. Starter Corey Kluber was 7-3 at home last year with the Yankees and had a 3.71 ERA. He also just had a fine spring training (3.24 ERA) with his new team.
