Atlanta at St. Louis

Both Atlanta and St. Louis had playoff aspirations to start the season, but they have each been straddling the .500 mark all season and can't seem to get much traction. The Cardinals, looking for pitching help, acquired JA Happ from the Minnesota Twins. The Twins have not had a good season, and the Cards are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle because Happ has been solid up until his stint with the Twins. Drew Smyly has pitched better of late for Atlanta, but he has been a journeyman throughout his career. The Cards have been solid at home this season at 30-22, and they have the edge in this one.
