The Phillies’ win last night gives them four straight, but their late surge may still not be good enough to make the playoffs. They trail the second NL wildcard position by 3 games, and have two teams to pass. They may rue the series vs. the lowly Astros where they dropped three of four as the difference maker. The Braves won't make it easy with a hot hand on the mound in Mike Minor. Minor is serving-up a lot of blanks in his last three starts, accounting for just a solitary run in 18.2 innings of work, for a miniscule ERA of 0.48. The Phillies counter with Roy Halladay, but age and injury have diminished this once automatic win to a 4.03 ERA. Those numbers have worsened over his last six starts to a 4.69 ERA. The Braves have had a lot of success here, having won 9 of the last 13 meetings in Philly. Minor has also been lights-out lately. Play on Atlanta.
