Atlanta at Los Angeles

Atlanta won 89 games last year despite a lot of injuries to key players. Last season's NL Cy Young Award winner, Chris Sale, makes his second start after fanning seven in five innings with one walk against San Diego. The Braves are 22-7 in his last 29 starts, including a 10-1 win over the Dodgers. Los Angeles is without 1B Freddie Freeman (ankle), the reigning World Series MVP. He hurt it recently, the same one he had surgery on in December. Starter Dustin May missed all of last season with injuries and will be pitching in the majors for the first time since May of 2023.
