The Red Sox will have ace Josh Beckett on the hill tonight against the Braves. Beckett has been lethal for opponents when taking the hill at Fenway, and enters this one with a 3.55 ERA at Fenway, despite giving up eight runs to the Yankees early in the season. Beckett has otherwise pitched to a 1.70 ERA here, and no one has scored on him here in his last two starts. Derek Lowe has been awful of late, entering with a 6.61 ERA in his last three starts. The last five times the Sox dropped two in a row at home they came back with a 5-0 mark, outscoring their opponents by 41-16. And you have to go all the way back to July of last year to find them dropping three straight here. The Braves have been 8-27 in their last 35 as a dog of +151 to +200, and have lost seven straight on the road with a total of 8.5 or less. Boston’s 46-13 mark in interleague play against right handers speaks volumes here. The Red Sox get this one.
