The San Francisco Giants have a long way to go to defend their World Series win from a year ago, but the NL West remains a wide open race. Despite their poor first half, they remain just 6.5 games behind Arizona, as this becomes a huge series at home. Ian Kennedy has lost the magic after a 22-win campaign a few years ago, and has simply not gotten it done. Kennedy has not won a game since June 1st, and is 0-3 with a 6.58 ERA since then. Chad Gaudin, despite some off field problems, has not let it effect him on the mound. He is 3-0 in six starts, with a handsome 2.70 ERA. Arizona is now 0-6 in Kennedy's last six starts within the division, and the Giants have had the D-Backs' number of late claiming five of the last six. Go with the Giants.
