Arizona at San Diego

These clubs have flip-flopped expectations from one year to the next. Last year nothing was expected out of the Padres, and they went on to win 90 games. This season they were expected to hang in the race off of last year and have faltered. The Diamondbacks were expected to be at or near the bottom of the NL West, but into the second half and 100+ games deep into the season they stand tall at 57-47 on the heels of San Francisco. Matt Latos was a big reason the Padres hung tough last year, but he is disappointing this year with an ERA over 4 and the Padres have dropped each of his last four starts.
