Both Josh Collmenter (1.25 ERA) and Jeff Karstens (3.30 ERA, 2.01 at home) have been outstanding this season. Both offenses here have struggled. This game could come down to the bullpen - an area where Pittsburgh has the edge. Arizona has struggled vs. good pitchers. The D-Backs are 22-49 the past couple of seasons vs. starters with an ERA of 3.50 or better and 18-43 vs. NL starters with a WHIP of 1.250 or better. The D-Backs have also not been able to get it done vs. struggling offenses as they are just 29-43 over that same span vs. NL teams scoring under 4.4 runs per game. Play on the home dog.
