Arizona has gone up two games in the wild-card race by winning five in a row and tonight the Diamondbacks will play the Yankees, whose only motivation is to avoid finishing in last place in the AL East. This is the first meeting between the teams since 2019 and Brandon Pfaadt will get the start for Arizona and he comes off five shutout innings on four hits in 5 1/3 innings against the Cubs last Friday. The Diamondbacks' bullpen has produced 43 saves this year and that is tied for #9 in the majors. The Yankees have lost three of four and they are 9-24 their past 33 Friday games and Luke Weaver will make his second start after being acquired from Seattle. Weaver allowed three runs on four hits in four innings against Pittsburgh in his Yankee debut on Saturday and he is 2-5 with a 6.77 ERA overall in 2023. The UNDER is 13-5-1 in Arizona's 19 interleague games and the Diamondbacks are 6-2-1 UNDER following a win. Arizona is 41-34 on the runline on the road this season.
