Max Scherzer may have the best stuff in the big leagues without posting a win. He has been snake bitten in the early going, losing his last start when a HR that hooked around the foul pole beat him. If you look at these numbers, they don't speak of a pitcher that is 0-6 for his career. Scherzer has 79 strikeouts in just 70 innings and has allowed just 61 hits, with an ERA of 3.44. Those are the kind of numbers that will sooner or later produce winning results. The Brewers are discovering life without the two aces they had at the top of the staff last year is putting a lot more pressure on Jeff Suppan to deliver. So far that hasn't worked out very well as Suppan is just 1-2 with a 7.32 ERA. Suppan has compounded his lack of location, which has seen him walk 12 in 19 innings, with giving up four long balls already. I like the D-Backs to get Scherzer his first big league win.
