Top pick: #10 (HATCHET) - Very wide in his latest from a tough post, gelding held his ground through-out and finished 5th of 13, and was beaten 5 1/2 lengths. 3yo from the Attfield barn draws wide again but catches a field where his early speed is a plus and he should have a more comfortable trip. Has a fine maintenance drill June 17 and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #2 (Wookinwicked) - Veteran maiden had no chance last out facing Ontario-bred special weights from a very tough outside post. 4yo was wide through-out and tonight draws better, drops, and races with blinkers back on after a one race absence. Lots of things to like.
3rd pick: #1 (Walkingoncloudnine) - Away for 6 months this 4yo finished a pace-chasing 2nd when sprinting facing weaker on June 26. Trainer John Ross has given him almost 6 weeks to recover and will stretch him out in distance and raise him up a bit in price. 4yo has the rail and can be a part of this with some improvement.
4th pick: #7 (Bold Phil) - Runs 3rd off a 5 month break and he was much improved in his latest when droppe down in his 2nd off the break. 3yo has some early speed and looks set for a competitive effort.
