Top pick: #13 (CHECK YOUR SOUL) - He's won three in a row, breaking his maiden on the Keeneland turf April 15, and has won his last pair on this surface. Colt broke "slowly" here May 1 but still won the Wando S. going away, and did the same last out in the Plate Trial. Still improving and is the choice of 17 runners(10 of which have some sort of chance).
2nd pick: #14 (Queensplatekitten) - He won the Marine S. here last out after having a tough trip in the (G1) BlueGrass S. at Keeneland in his previous effort. Has good positional speed, is in the Pletcher barn, and stable rider John Velazquez is aboard.
3rd pick: #5 (Pender Harbour) - Longshot runs 3rd back off a layoff, improved noticeably last out, and will have no problem getting the 10 furlong distance. Has a big shot at a huge price.
4th pick: #9 (Inglorious) - The field's only filly is undefeated on this surface (4 for 4) with all of them coming in stakes. This past winter at the Fair Grounds she ran well facing "open" company and is working fast for this. Legitimate contender as she faces males for the first time.
