Top pick: #1 (CONNEMARRA) - Talented and lightly raced son of "Giant's Causeway" probably should be undefeated going into this but broke slowly two back and just failed to catch today's rival No. 5 "Ranger Healey". Jockey Russell Baze can place him just about anywhere and colt broke his maiden on this surface when debuting last fall. The top selection.
2nd pick: #3 (Chief Counsel) - Son of the fine stallion "Officer" showed some ability last summer-fall and broke his maiden on October 22 at Keeneland going 7 furlongs in his final start of 2009. Given plenty of time to grow and mature by his "Hall of Fame" trainer Bill Mott, colt will stretch-out this afternoon after finishing a solid second in his seasonal debut at the one-day meet at Ocala. Working sharply since over the deep track at Payson Park, he has a shot at the win at a nice price.
3rd pick: #6 (Outlaw Man) - California invader finished a fine fourth last out at Santa Anita in the SHAM stakes(G3) in his first on a "poly" surface and first facing winners. Tainer Ken McPeek will add the "hood" this afternoon for the first time.
4th pick: #7 (Northern Giant) - Another son of "Giant's Causeway" he's shown big improvement since trainer Wayne Lukas added blinkers three starts back. Speed/stalker finished a very good third last out in the "Risen Star" stakes (G2) in his first start facing winners. Don't ignore.
