Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #4 (COULDASHOULDADID) (2-1) - Lightly-raced and speedy, he set a quick pace and was beaten a 1/2 length racing here going five furlongs at this level Jan 4. It was his second back from an 11 1/2 month layoff and he's from the barn of leading trainer Bob Diodoro. Gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #1 (Cool Ice) (7-2) - Grey gelding has finished second in two of three starts since coming here from Golden Gate Fields during the fall. Speed/stalker has the rail and is a threat to upset 'Couldashouldadid'.
3rd pick: #3 (Hit a Homerun) (3-1) - Four-year-old is from the same barn (Mike Silva) as 'Cool Ice' and the pair race uncoupled. Very lightly-raced Calif. bred has been on the sidelines since May 1 when he tired as the heavy favorite at Santa Anita facing much tougher. Can factor if ready in his first start for Silva(a 20% winning angle).
4th pick: #11 (Budlitelarry) (10-1) - 'Larry' was away from action for a long time (18 months) and is making his third start this month since returning. He has a speed/stalking style and draws outside of the other speedy types. Has a shot at a big price.
