Top pick: #10 (ANNA G) (5-1) - One of two fillies entered by trainer Manny Ortiz, and the pair race uncoupled. She showed fine early speed and tired late when debuting here on Nov. 4th, then weakened in her latest after "ducking in" out of the chute. The outside post is a big plus, and she's the horse to beat.
nd pick: #8 (Tax Strider) (12-1) - The second of the Ortiz fillies, she debuts off a steady series of local drills, and had a nice 3-furlong breeze from the gate on Dec. 4th. Daughter of "Buck Strider" need not be anything special to impact against this poor lot.
rd pick: #7 (Hot Wildcat) (7-2) - Lightly raced and improving, she finished second here at this level going 6.5-furlongs on Jan. 11th in a contest that was run in extremely slow time. She can factor again, but will be over-bet and holds no real advantage.
th pick: #2 (Baby's Corner) (3-1) - Nice effort here on Dec. 30th saw her chase a "long gone" winner, but she held gamely to hold down the place spot. A repeat of that run makes her a threat.
th pick: #9 (Shaky Reality) (10-1) - Another that's debuting, she's from the barn of veteran Dan McFarland, and filly had a fine local half-mile breeze on Dec. 24th.
