Top pick: #5 (DOUBLE JACK) (4-1) - Speedy sort is racing back into shape following several layoffs and has finished second in two straight here racing at this level and distance. He has some back class and trainer Sandi Gann has put a work into him since his narrow defeat Dec. 30. The horse to beat.
2nd pick: #6 (Bespoke Suit) (6-1) - He threw in a "clunker" last out when he broke slowly and was never involved in the same Dec. 30 contest as "Jack." He's been very consistent prior to that "troubled" outing and should be back to his old self this afternoon.
3rd pick: #7 (Cash Up Front) (12-1) - He also ran poorly last out, but had been in good form prior to that and he can factor with his normal late kick at a square price.
5th pick: #9 (End of Discussion) (8-1) - Grey gelding stretches back out after he raced wide and evenly in a sprint here at this level Dec. 28. 4-year-old had run well in six straight before that sprint and can impact, but needs to avoid a wide trip from his outside post.
