Top pick: #3 (DREAM TOTEM) (5-2) - The probable favorite, lightly raced gelding comes off a career best when he finished second here at this level and distance March 10. It was his first since late Dec., first on the grass, and first for leading trainer Bob Diodoro. The horse to beat.
nd pick: #4 (Kahului Bluff) (8-1) - Longshot stretches out in distance and goes dirt to dirt for this attempt. Washington-bred has finished second in two straight sprinting on the dirt and has more early speed than most.
rd pick: #9 (Memo From Pat) (3-1) - Grey filly takes on males after finishing second in two of three here at this level against her own sex. Draws a tough post and needs to do a bit better.
th pick: #1 (Rupert) (9-2) - Even-paced grey gelding has improved since switching to the turf, and last out ran third, only 2 1/2 back of "Totem." He's worked fast since, and trainer Dan McFarland has had a strong meet.
th pick: #8 (He's a Wizard) (6-1) - He has some speed and ability, but tired last out while finishing well back of both "Totem" and "Rupert." Gelding will be a big price and may grab a share.
