Top pick: #9 (GO BLACK TIE) (3-1) - So. California shipper has been a bit dull of late but still has the best recent figures of this group. His new trainer (Manny Ortiz) drops him to a new low in price and this speed/stalker should beat these if he has any talent left.
2nd pick: #3 (Candy Raider) (9-2) - He has a lot of changes this afternoon that make him a serious win threat. Well bred runner has been gelded during the past month, is dropping in class, moving from turf to dirt, and is cutting back in distance. Almost made him the top pick.
3rd pick: #7 (Mystorynmstikntoit) (5-1) - Golden Gate shipper has some early speed and will be racing on conventional dirt for the first time. He has a new trainer (Angel Silva) and he had him work a fine half-mile here five days ago.
4th pick: #6 (Buck's Tornado) (6-1) - No-speed type rallied from far back to finish a distant second here at this level Dec. 26. The pace that day was fast and he'll it to be so again today to help his stretch charge be effective.
