Veteran makes his local debut off almost a three month break. He's gone 9-4-3-0 in 2016 and al of those starts have come in dirt sprints. He worked fast here and gets the slightest of edges.
2nd pick: #1 (Mysterious Storm) (9-5) - The second of the Diodoro pair, he's won 9-of-24 overall and is 4-for-11 locally. Veteran speedster won here facing weaker Oct. 22 and was claimed that afternoon by Diodoro for $6,250. New barn wins at a 20% rate first off the claim and this gelding is a serious threat to win again in wire-to-wire fashion.
3rd pick: #5 (Joint Tenant) (10-1) - Freshened up since Sept. 5, colt was competitive in seven of eight starts this past spring/summer at Assiniboia Downs. Stretch runner is working above average for his first local appearance and is in a winning barn (Jared Brown).
4th pick: #7 (Back Alley Rally) (15-1) - Veteran gelding drops down in class after showing nothing here in a $30,000 sprint stakes Oct. 15. He's at a tag that he's capable at and may grab a share with one of his better efforts.
