Top pick: #8 (FIT FOR DUTY) (2-1) - Lightly-raced gelding enters off a second-place finish at this level going 5.5-furlongs March 16. That matched a career best figure and it came in his first off a Mike Talbot claim. Speed/stalker draws outside of the other pace and that's to his advantage. He gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #6 (High On Final) (3-1) - Five-year-old began his career on the tougher So. California circuit before coming to Arizona. He broke his maiden here 13 months ago and was sent in for a 10-month layoff after a follow up start. He's raced himself back into shape following his return in late January and missed by a 'neck' 19 days ago at this level. A strong win candidate.
3rd pick: #5 (Ligurean Sea) (5-1) - Calif. bred has had excuses in both starts at this level following his maiden win here Feb 10. He was forced into a wide rally on March 7th, and last out he broke slowly. Four-year-old was only beaten three lengths in each and is a threat with a late rally.
4th pick: #4 (Cowboy Clyde) (6-1) - Away since Feb 10, he's been racing evenly without threatening since coming off a 7 1/2 month layoff in early Dec. Working well for this attempt, he had races during the first half of 2014 that would make him a factor if repeatable.
