Top pick: #8 (EASY HIT) (3-1) - Gelding was an impressive maiden winner here at this distance racing for an $8000 claiming price on Dec. 26th. He was dropping to a new low that day and was claimed by trainer Dan McFarland. He's worked him three times since, including a near bullet 5-furlongs on Jan. 22nd, and gelding is nicely spotted in his first for the new connections.
2nd pick: #2 (Jimmy's Got Game) (10-1) - "Jimmy" has early speed, is running second back from a two month layoff, has blinkers added, and leading rider Carreno is aboard for the first time.
3rd pick: #7 (Nicolas Cajun) (5-2) - Cal-bred won his debut in early June at Emerald Downs, and raced evenly there in a pair of stakes following that initial victory. He hasn't run since Aug. 17th, but is working fast locally and you know that he can fire fresh.
4th pick: #1 (You Done Good) (6-1) - Lightly raced speed/stalker has the rail, and has been competitive in both starts facing winners. Gelding fits with his best, and should be involved from gate-to-wire.
