Top pick: #1 (MISS FAST EDDIE) (5-2) - Santa Anita shipper has been racing evenly there facing tougher, and will drop to a new low in her local debut. Filly has a new trainer (Jeff Metz), and to go along with the drop, he'll shorten her up in distance. 3yo has the rail, and jockey Franco has won with 10 of 21 when riding for Metz.
2nd pick: #3 (Impeccably) (3-1) - Speedy filly also comes from Santa Anita where she tired badly going a mile on Dec. 29th. Good So. Cal barn (Adam Kitchingman) drops her to a new low and cuts her back from 8-furlongs to 5.5.
3rd pick: #5 (Hot Little Thang) (7-2) - Speed/stalker has finished second here in four straight starts, the latest coming at this price-tag Jan. 15th. Obvious threat, but the shippers make this field a lot tougher.
4th pick: #8 (Mean Emma Jean) (8-1) - One of two entered by trainer Bob Diodoro, and the pair race uncoupled. Lightly raced filly was competitive in one of three starts in So. California, and has a bit of speed. Can factor at a square price.
