Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #7 (MONUMENTAL SEVEN) (9-2) - Gelding set a quick pace before weakening to finish second here at this level and distance Feb. 11. By far a career best, he gets a big rider upgrade to Scott Stevens, a clear indication that trainer Stacy Campo likes this one's chances.
2nd pick: #5 (Tiz Meow) (3-1) - One of two sprinters that are stretching out, colt made up some ground to finish third when debuting here at this level going 6.5 furlongs on the main track March 4. Veteran Dan McFarland brings him back quickly, switches him the the grass, and has him traveling a mile.
3rd pick: #1 (Gio Star) (5-1) - Grey gelding makes his local debut and does so off a private trainer change to Jeff Metz. Four-year-old hasn't shown anything on the So. California circuit but should find the locals a bit more to his liking. Stretch threat.
4th pick: #3 (Midnight Zither) (6-1) - He debuted in the same March 4 dirt sprint as 'Tiz Meow' and tired after being involved in a spirited pace duel through fast fractions. Along with the switch to the grass trainer Val Lund is adding blinkers.
