Top pick: #5 (CRAZY COZZY) (2-1) - Grey gelding finised third of nine, beaten almost two lengths when racing here at this tag and trip on Dec. 21. It was his best overall since last February and a repeat of it takes this.
2nd pick: #3 (Dogleg Left) (5-1) - Lightly-raced and well-bred, he runs third back off a 70-day freshening and will be stretching out in distance and racing with blinkers on. He's shown signs of improving in his two local sprints and is bred to like this longer trip.
3rd pick: #6 (Modern Gentleman) (4-1) - He's making his 44th attempt at getting his maiden win and he's gone 9-0-4-2 at this distance on the dirt. He draws a nice post for his one-run style with all the speed to his left. Must be left in the mix.
4th pick: #2 (Braziliano) (9-2) - He has a bit of speed, but is a most unreliable sort. Long-time maiden is dropping back down and going turf-to-dirt in this spot. It was his best overall since coming off a 5 1/2 month layoff in late October and his record on the local dirt is 21-0-5-4.
