Won the Hollywood Derby two starts back, then finished 2nd to multiple graded stakes winner "Kip Deville" last out at Gulfstream. The win choice in a very competitive race.
2nd pick: #2 (Cowboy Cal) - Draws inside and has won a pair of stakes on this surface in those two starts. Speed/stalker is very game and from this inside draw he should be in this from start-to-finish.
3rd pick: #7 (Blue Exit) - Longshot He finished 2nd in the Strub" stakes with a solid late rally into a slow pace. Much improved since having blinkers added by trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. Impressive late runner has a shot at the win.
4th pick: #12 (Zambesi Sun) - Group one winner ran a bit "head-strong" in his U.S. debut, fighting jockey Garret Gomez the whole race and tiring in the last furlong after expending a lot of "nervous" energy. He'll try racing on a "synthetic" track for the first time and is working sharply on this surface for "Hall of Famer" Bobby Frankel. Trainer is the best at setting his runners up. Threat at a square price.
