Top pick: #2 (DISCREET MARQ) (7-2) - Her grass record is outstanding (9-5-1-2), and she comes back to Belmont after winning the (G1) "Del Mar Oaks" on Aug. 17th. Grey home-bred has won three stakes in a row, and daughter of "Discreet Cat" is 3-2-0-1 on this surface. Speed/stalker gets a slight edge.

nd pick: #1 (Emollient) (3-1) - She also comes back from California where she won the "American Oaks" (G1) at Hollywood Park on July 13. Race was her first ever on the turf, and trainer Bill Mott has her working both steadily and well above average. Juddmonte home-bred by "Empire Maker" has the rail, a flexible style, and is a win candidate.

rd pick: #4 (Alterite) (4-1) - French-import kept top company in her native country, and in late May she missed by a nose in the Group 1 "Prix St-Alary" at Longchamp, one of the most important races for 3yo fillies in that country. Now with Chad Brown, lasix is added, and this import is a big threat if ready.

th pick: #3 (With Sugar On Top) (12-1) - Lightly raced Darley runner was a sharp winner over weaker at Saratoga on Aug. 22nd. She's three for six on the grass, and is two for three at this distance on the grass. Dangerous, and at long odds.

th pick: #6 (Summer of Fun) (8-1) - Her grass record stands at 7-3-1-2, and this lightly raced filly has been in with some very good runners. Daughter of "Include" won a small stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 10th, and should love this nine furlong trip.
