(# 3) SUZEE SURPRISE - Abbreviated sprint on tap here for maiden three-year-old old fillies. "Suzee" ran a very good second in only outing at two which came at the Meadowlands in early November. Race was a swift one, and the figure earned easily ranks as the highest attained by any of those who have run. Returned at Gulfstream in January in a seven-furlong race and was near the leaders while wide before tiring late. Received plenty of mutual support at the windows and this looks like a nice spot for use of her speed. There are a lot of firsters signed on, several from top outfits so watch the board.

(# 10) STRAIGHT LACE - Appears to be coming around for top barn on the recent switch. New trainer Gerald Bennett put filly immediately into a maiden special after series of claiming efforts - a nice vote of confidence. She responded with a new career top figure. Well bred miss has two three-furlong breezes since last race so she looks to be feeling just fine. Has some speed, so she should be in a nice stalking position against a largely inexperienced field.
