(# 4) Independence Ridge - Tough horse to like a lot with twenty losses on his resume. Thought he would have been much closer to runaway winner in last when he was blocked and almost had to stop approaching the 3/8 pole. There appears to be enough speed types in here who like to stop which would aid his cause greatly. Closer will need help to finally get the job done.

(# 8) Explained - Hicklin had a horse win last week with this same scenario. Had three sprint starts dropped and promptly won. That was not a maiden race and horse had some good back form. Will probably try and make the lead although #7 Battle Bay with a 10lb apprentice signed on will contest the pace.

(# 9) Linecountry - Another twenty plus loser with some fair performances where he has passed a few in the stretch.

(# 2) Indurain - He was improving steadily until his last effort which came here at Tampa. If you're willing to excuse that try, he is a contender.
