Top pick: #10 (SAPPHIRE SUN) - Grey filly showed some promise early in her career, but clearly didn't care for the "poly" surface at Presque Isle Downs and after a pair of starts there trainer Lori Smock sent her in for a seven-month break beginning in late August. Barn dropped her down to $8K for her return race and filly was a handy winner in fast time for the 5-furlong dash on March 30th. She's brought back quickly for this and is the horse to beat.
2nd pick: #8 (Ruby Red) - Home-bred broke her maiden here on Feb. 29 in her first off a private trainer change to Kate O'Connell. Filly followed that up by running second at this level just two weeks ago and a repeat of that effort makes her a threat.
3rd pick: #11 (Dublin Rose) - Another who broke her maiden here recently and this grey filly has a speed/stalking style and was bred to be a good horse. Owner/trainer Rory Barron brings her back in 7 days for this and Dan Centeno is aboard on the re-ride.
