Top pick: #2 (MIND SPELL) (2-1) - He's one of two entered in here by trainer Jay DaCosta and the pair race uncoupled. He's been competitive in all four starts at this meet and last out finished a close up 3rd at this level. Barn shortens him up in distance and I like his chances.
2nd pick: #4 (Don of Dons) (5-2) - The second of the DaCosta duo, he has plenty of early speed and comes into this off a sharp wire-to-wire maiden win here 10 days ago facing special weights. Very dangerous.
3rd pick: #3 (Rockyshomerun) (2-1) - He's gone (2-1-1-0) here this winter and in between those two outings he finished a solid fourth at Gulfstream in the $140K "Spectacular Bid" stakes. Obvious threat and he has a recent fast work.
4th pick: #1 (Pyrite Green) (6-1) - He defeated "Rocky" on Jan. 23, but last out he raced evenly and was 4 1/2 lengths behind "Mind Spell." Has the rail and can grab a share with his best.
