Top pick: #6 (SOUPER COLOSSAL) (6-1) - Price play is cross entered in a race at Gulfstream but believe he'll race here. Speed/stalker has won 4-of-5 overall with his only poor effort coming in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile' (G1) on Nov. 1 at Santa Anita. He won his seasonal debut sprinting on the Gulfstream turf and has won going two-turns on the dirt in the past. Looks set for a big effort.
2nd pick: #1 (Divining Rod) (10-1) - Another longshot, Speedy sort just missed here in the prep for this race. A career best, he's working nicely for this and his local experience is a big plus. Colt by "Tapit" should be involved from start-to-finish.
3rd pick: #3 (Carpe Diem) (8-5) - Highly thought of colt from the Pletcher barn won his first pair with ease, including the G1 Breeder's Futurity at Keeneland in early October. He followed that up with a second-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) on Nov. 1. On the sidelines since, he's training fast at Palm Beach Downs and will likely win this if fully cranked. Trainer Todd Pletcher likes to bring them along slowly with bigger races down the road. Think he's vulnerable at a short price.
4th pick: #2 (Ocean Night) (3-1) - He's 2-for-2 and won the local Sam Davis stakes Jan. 31. He did so from a tough outside post and is training well since. He has a lot of promise at this point and must be left in the mix.
