(# 3) Hard Spun - Veteran of the Triple-Crown wars looked no worse for wear with a fine second-place finish in the recent Haskell (Grade 1) to a rail aided Any Given Saturday. This is a tough assignment, and he'll have to run hard every step, against some improving types.
(# 11) King of the Roxy - Colt still has potential, as he has hinted at big ability at times, but has not taken that next leap forward at this stage. He won the Belmont Futurity (Grade 2) in his only appearance at this tricky seven-furlong distance, and also won the Hutchinson (Grade-2) at 7 furlongs.
(# 's 6, 9,10) Forty Grams,Fr.Defence,Bold Start - Would use these three runners in small exactas with the top pick. If Hard Spun is beaten, the exactas should be worth it, if our top selection is the one to do it.
