Premium Pick

Top pick: #2 (FLASHY AMERICAN) (3-1) - Grey mare is one of two entered with a local win, and it came here a year ago at this distance in a $100K stakes. Veteran has beaten better fields than this in the past and has more victories (three) at this demanding 1 1/8th trip than the rest of the group combined (one). Strong finisher should get a solid pace to rally into and is the horse to beat.

2nd pick: #3 (Antipathy) (5-2) - Beautifully bred filly has really come into her own this year and enters off a career best when beaten a "neck" in the G1 Ogden Phipps Stakes at Belmont on June 7. Daughter of "A.P. Indy" has been working well since and should be involved today from start-to-finish.

3rd pick: #1 (Swinger's Party) (20-1) - Longshot ships up from Florida where she finished second in a $75K stakes on June 14. Daughter of "Medaglia d'Oro" set a quick and pressured pace and held well in her first race since last Sept. She has the rail, and trainer Marty Wolfson has won big races here in the past. Filly was working nicely at Gulfstream before shipping and is a "live" price play.

4th pick: #6 (Hot Stones) - Stretch out sprinter rallied to win the G3 Bed O'Roses stakes going seven-furlongs at Belmont on June 21. Hard hitter has gone 11-6-3-1 overall and broke her maiden here a year ago. In career best shape, and she has a fine record on wet tracks (3-1-2-0).
