Generazio home bred tired last out at Belmont going a mile July 4. Freshened up for the past month, speed/stalker draws a nice outside post and gets a slight edge.
2nd pick: #7 (Holding Gold) (2-1) - Woodbine shipper finished second there, going seven furlongs facing weaker June 25. It was his third start back off an eight month layoff and his first ever on the grass. Competitive in four of five overall, he was working fast in Canada before heading to Saratoga.
3rd pick: #2 (Bust Another) (10-1) - Very consistent 9-5-2-0, he finished a close up second June 26 at Belmont in a $100K grass stakes going seven furlongs. It was his first ever on the turf and gelding has gone 6-3-2-1 since being claimed by trainer Mike Pino for $32,000 in early January. Factors today at a square price.
4th pick: #3 (Commend) (3-1) - Lightly-raced and beautifully bred, son of 'War Front' moves way up in class in his first facing winners. Colt rallied to break his maiden going six furlongs July 6 at Belmont and clearly has plenty of talent and room for upside. Must be left in the mix.
