Bet this race at Diamond SportsTop pick: #5 (CANDY TYCOON) (4-1) - He's been given a 2.5-month freshening by Todd Pletcher after going 7-1-3-2 on the dirt since debuting here last August. He has a flexible style, is working well, and he gets a slight edge. Also, like many, he's prepping for the G1 Travers later in this meet.
nd pick: #2 (Country Grammar) (7-2) - Colt rallied mildly to finish 3rd in a first-level allowance at Belmont June 4. He clearly has ability, is from the barn of Chad Brown, and Irad Ortiz, Jr. is aboard for the first time. A strong win candidate.
rd pick: #3 (Modernist) (9-2) - This son of 'Uncle Mo' enters after tiring badly in the Belmont Stakes (G1) June 20. He was much sharper in four straight prior to that, and he won the G2 Risen Star at the Fair Grounds. He is also a perfect two for two in both starts at this distance when going two turns.
th pick: #6 (Mystic Guide) (5-1) - A very lightly raced homebred by 'Ghostzapper,' he rallied to finish 2nd at Belmont June 4, and he was 1.5 lengths ahead of 'Country Grammer' that afternoon. Godolphin runner has been highly thought of since day one and must be left in the mix.
th pick: #1 (Mo Hawk) (30-1) - Longshot has the rail, early speed, and may hold down a share at a big price. He cost $925,000, so there are expectations for this son of 'Uncle Mo.'
