Top pick: #3 (LAUGH OUT LOUD) (5-2) - English-bred kept some quality company both in her native country and in France and was a Group 2 winner in June of 2012, and placed in a pair of Group 1 races last fall. She's only run twice since then and tired badly in her North American debut in early June. Working well since, she has a new trainer (Chad Brown 27% with new arrivals), and he adds lasix (35%).
2nd pick: #5 (Baffle Me) (4-1) - Speedy filly has gone 7-2-2-2 since traiiner Mark Hennig switched her to the turf last fall. Filly has been sharp in four of five this year and last out finished a pace-setting second to the talented "Samitar" in the $100k "Fairy Garden" stakes at Belmont. Win candidate.
3rd pick: #6 (Ruthenia) (3-1) - Veteran mare always comes to run and has gone 16-5-3-2 on the grass while winning several stakes and placing in many others. Her closing style does not fit this field that well, but if a fast and/or contest pace develops, she'll be finishing fast.
4th pick: #4 (Assateague) (8-1) - Price play is the only one entered who has won on this surface before and speed/stalker enters this off a nice looking win at Belmont on June 26th when facing weaker. Working nicely for this and a threat at square odds.
