Top pick: #4 (SISTER STATE) (6-1) - Price play was sharp in her first three starts and had legitimate excuses in her last pair. Two back at Belmont she tired after being sent hard from an inside post while involved in a three-horse speed-duel, and last out tireda after being over-matched in the "Mother Goose" stakes (G1). Bred to love this two-turn trip and this field isn't that strong for the level.
2nd pick: #8 (Assured) (8-5) - The possible favorite, Juddmonte Farms home-bred was an impressive maiden winner at Belmong going a mile on June 14th and has been freshened up since. Working fast for this and a win candidate.
3rd pick: #2 (Grand Mere) (10-1) - On the sidelines since early March, filly has gone 5-2-3-0 since joining the barn of Rudy Rodriguez and she had a near bullet 5-furlong breeze here on July 13th. Capable if ready, and she'll be a nice price.
4th pick: #6 (Lady Kierkegaard) (15-1) - Long-winded type moves up in class after finishing third in three straight at Belmont during the spring/summer meets. She finished second here at this trip last year and could make some late noise at long odds.
