Top pick: #6 (MY FRIEND KEITH) (5-2) - The probable favorite, he's finished 2nd in both starts at Belmont since dropping down to this level. Each came at this demanding 1 1/8th mile distance and he's the horse to beat.
nd pick: #4 (Greg's Fourwheeler) (5-1) - 'Long winded' type has improved overall since moving to the turf. He rallied to finish 2nd last out at this level and distance at Belmont July 5. The faster the pace, the better his chances.
rd pick: #3 (Gear Jammer) (10-1) - He has a bit of speed and races with blinkers on. Gelding cost $150K in May of 2014 and is dropping into a claimer for the first time. Price play tired at Belmont facing tougher July 10 and is making back-to-back starts for the first time since last fall.
th pick: #2 (Ant and Bee) (15-1) - Longshot is another with some early speed and breaks just off the rail. Grey gelding was only beaten 3-lengths last out and it's apprentice Cancel off and Irad Ortiz Jr. on.
th pick: #9 (Plundering) (5-1) - He has good early speed and last out set a pressured pace while a bit rank. He held gamely to finish a close up 3rd in what was his first start in 13 1/2 months. It's noted that Castellano is aboard for the first time.
