Top pick: #5 (MERRY MEADOW) (9-2) - Ultra consistent (21-5-10-4) filly enters in career best form and last out lost by a "nose" in the G3 Bed O'Roses stakes at Belmont. Professional stalker is 9-3-5-1 at this distance and won here in late August of 2013. At press time only #4 Red Velvet had been scratched and that leaves lots of speed signed on to set up her stretch run.
2nd pick: #2 (Speedinthruthecity) (5-1) - Much like "Merry Meadow" she has a strong closing kick and has won five of seven starts dating back to May of 2013. Daughter of "City Zip" has won on an off track in the past and she should get the same favorable pace set up as the top pick.
3rd pick: #1 (La Verdad) (6-5) - The probable heavy favorite, she's won 9-of-11 overall and is a perfect 5-for-5 on wet surfaces. Working fast locally, she's won four stakes in a row and New York bred defeated open G2 foes this past April at Aqueduct. She needs to avoid an early pace duel with #3 R Free Roll to win this.
4th pick: #3 (R Free Roll) (6-1) - Extremely quick from the gate, she's gone 16-6-5-2 in her home state of Florida and enters this with two easy stakes win in a row. Daughter of "Rockport Harbor" had a bullet half-mile drill here a week ago that suggests she's ready for her local debut.
