Top pick: #2 (ROMACACA) - She's won five in a row and has done so at four different tracks. Speed/stalker stepped up when winning the G3 Matchmaker S. at Monmouth July 31 and last year showed some quality when finishing a close-up fourth in the G1 Beverly D. at Arlington Park. There's not much pace signed on and this mare can take this at a nice price from on, or just off the top.
2nd pick: #3 (Daveron) - Much improved of late and German-bred mare has won three of her last four (all stakes) and in her loss came in second to today's rival "Mekong Melody" last year in the G3 Long Island H. Has some positional speed and is a win threat.
3rd pick: #5 (Mekong Melody) - As mentioned above, she won the Long Island H. (G3) last fall, but is winless in three 2010 outings. Strong finisher had a bullet work before coming here from Woodbine. Stretch threat, mare is one of two entered by trainer Roger attfield and they'll run as separate interests.
