He was on the "Derby" trail earlier this year until two poor efforts in the "Gotham" (G3) and "Wood Memorial" (G1). Pletcher moves him back to the dirt following a trio of grass starts, and it's noted that leading rider Castellano stays aloft.
3rd pick: #10 (Successful Runner) (8-1) - He's facing winners for the first time after an impressive maiden win going a mile at Belmont July 11. Working fast locally, he finished second in his only previous attempt at this 1 1/8th mile trip.
4th pick: #8 (C J's Awesome) (6-1) - Speedy and still improving, he enters off a narrow loss here at this level and distance July 26. He was involved every step that day, held strongly, and the horse that finished a 1/2 length in front of him came right back to win another.
5th pick: #3 (Lieutenant Seany O) (15-1) - Longshot moves up in class after defeating weaker here at this distance on Aug. 8. He's racing first off a Mitch Friedman claim (14%), has worked well since, and should get a solid pace to close into.
